Anacostia Boat Tour (Oct. 4)

October 4 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join DCSWA and the Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) on a boat tour of the Anacostia River through the colorful fall foliage! Once an important trading waterway and cultural site, the river has suffered as a dumping ground for pollution and trash through the 20th century. In 1989, a group of concerned citizens formed AWS with a goal to clean up the river and restore its environment and recreational allure. Attendees will learn about the river’s history and ecology and the Society’s work to make the river swimmable and fishable again.

Where: Meet at Diamond Teague Park near Nationals Park: 99 Potomac Ave. SE Washington, DC, 20003
