Summary:

The Senior Communication Specialist leads the development of internal or external communications strategies in alignment with organizational priorities. This position will develop and maintain relationships with internal audiences including executive leadership, clients, faculty, staff, trainees, and students and external audiences including journalists, community stakeholders and consumers, to advance awareness of Johns Hopkins Medicine’s mission, vision and values.

Further, the position will provide communications counsel and guidance to internal clients including organizational leadership and stakeholders to help achieve organizational goals. Responsible for coordinating and liaising with other Marketing and Communications specialties to achieve client-specific goals. This role will lead operational processes and analytical tasks as needed, and coordinates with other Marketing and Communications department colleagues to implement projects and initiatives.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in journalism, public relations or related communications fields is preferred. Advanced degree in related field preferred.

Work Experience:

Minimum of five years of experience in a communications field, preferably in a healthcare of education setting.
