The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research is looking for a seasoned senior science writer to join us for a contract position (20 hours/week).
The right applicant has extensive experience covering topics related to neuroscience, neurodegenerative disorders and brain health for a patient as well as researcher audience. This includes covering breaking news, reporting from scientific conferences and collaborating with our corporate communications and marketing teams on comms plans related to new projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience working with research and executive leadership and can write for multiple verticals, including web and print publications.
Most of all, you must be a strong science writer who knows how to get the everyday person to understand the complexities of the human brain and sniff out compelling narratives hidden in the latest scientific paper or conference presentation. A passion for curing Parkinson’s is definitely a plus.
