Science, Storytelling, and Comedy: A Charity Event with The Hypothesis, Story Collider, and Guests

February 24, 2019 @ 5:00 pm

$15

One night only! An explosive cocktail of an evening brings together science, storytelling, and comedy.

The Story Collider will feature storytellers Sushma Subramanian, assistant professor of journalism at the University of Mary Washington (and DCSWA Board Vice President!), and Adam Ruben, a writer, comedian, and molecular biologist. Featured improv teams include Press Play, one of DC’s longest-running improv comedy troupes, and The Hypothesis, a science improv team who turns your favorite science facts into giggles and guffaws.

Ticket proceeds and 5% of bar sales will go towards the Union of Concerned Scientists (https://www.ucsusa.org/), a national nonprofit organization founded 50 years ago by scientists and students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who sought to use the power of science to address global problems and improve peoples’ lives.
