This year, as in past years, we are offering scholarships to early-career or other science writers wishing to attend Professional Development Day (PDD), for whom paying the registration fee would be a hardship. In exchange, scholars will write short blog posts describing a PDD session. See example posts from last year’s event.
To apply for a scholarship, please send an email of no more than 500 words to president@dcswa.org with the subject line “PDD 2016 Scholarship” and include the following:
- Your current position and activities
- Your science writing background and experience, including links to 1-2 clips, if available
- How attending PDD 2016 will help you
- Anything else that will help us assess your need for and ability to benefit from a PDD 2016 scholarship
